Addiction is a mental disorder that causes the afflicted to experience impaired thinking & self- abusive & self-destructive behaviors including emotional insecurity. Addiction is real & it has damaged & killed millions of people in The United States Of America. It is the only disease that has the power to convince the afflicted that they do not have it even under the worst of circumstances & conditions. This is called denial , delusion or dissociation. Addiction is very life threatening & it can lead to very dark & dangerous places for everyone afflicted & that is especially so for people that become addicted to drugs, alcohol or sex. Crime & violence in America is most often committed by people afflicted with the disease of addiction that have a drug of choice consisting of narcotics, alcohol, sex or gambling. It is estimated that 80% of all crime & violence is addiction related. Many addicts have multiple addictions & very few have just one which simply makes matters worse. The drug sub-culture in America is made up of unfortunate people afflicted with drug addiction & illegal drug dealers who make their living selling illegal drugs & narcotics to drug addicts. Most of the people that sexually abuse minors are addicted to sex & so are people that hire prostitutes who are usually sexually addicted sexual abuse victims or drug addicts themselves. Many drug addicts also sell narcotics or sex to support their habits which is almost impossible to do with a normal job & normal wages. All addiction is about not being able to say no. About not having that boundary. Once an addict becomes addicted to anything they simply can not stop acting out in their bottom line compulsive addictive behaviors under their own willpower no matter how hard they try or how many different times they resolve to quit. Powerlessness is what sets them apart from normal people. They are very unfortunate people. Only ten percent of addicts ever achieve total abstinence or complete recovery & that also includes addicts that hit bottom & enter a program of recovery of any type. That in itself is a testimony as to the power that addiction has over addicts. Addiction is the demon. Satan the devil if there ever was one if you are a Christian & believe in duality . Many Christian ministers throughout America are starting to realize that & many of them are beginning to talk about it on the pulpit & they are encouraging people with addictions to reach out for help & their churches are also facilitating addiction recovery groups as they start to realize that neither prayer nor religion has power over addiction or addicts until they hit bottom & come out of denial & delusion. Addiction perverts & negates a person's good qualities & prevents them from being able to live up to their own personal values & religious beliefs & convictions which produces guilt & shame & that is the fuel that fires all addiction & keeps addicts in the squirrel cage. They simply can not get out of it until they hit a painful bottom & choose to reach out for help & get the addiction education they need through a twelve step recovery program, professional counselors, therapist, treatment centers or religious based recovery programs or simply decide to quit on their own which very few addicts have been able to do simply because of the enormous power that addiction has over them . Denial & delusion is the culprit & it is very powerful over addicts who are dissociated & cut off from feelings! |

| Our government needs to start hiring qualified professionals to go into America's schools & educate it's children about dysfunctional families & the disease of addiction at a very early age. Unfortunate children afflicted with this tragic illness need special education & treatment before their addiction has the opportunity to take over their lives & destroy them. Drug testing is the only way to identify which kids are afflicted with the disease of drug addiction or alcoholism as they usually lead a secret double life their parents know nothing about & they are very adept at hiding it & covering it up & their friends enable them by helping them keep their drug or alcohol use or sexual promiscuity a secret. Most parents find out after it is to late & their addicted children are hopelessly addicted, brain damaged or dead as a result of overdose , accidents , violence or other life damaging perils such as incurable STDS or unplanned & unwanted pregnancies that often end up being devastating life damaging abortions. That Is Avoidable As America Has The Power To Educate It's Children! The lives of many of America's children & grandchildren that are afflicted with the disease of addiction are at stake.
